Sylvia F. Arocha

August 5, 1951 — September 22, 2015

Sylvia F. Arocha, of Oshkosh, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Aurora St. Lukes Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by her friends, Scott and Vicky Radford and Anna Anne Butler. She was born in San Antonio, Texas; on August 5, 1951, the daughter of Climaco and Frances Arocha. She attended the University of Oshkosh. Sylvia was a long term employee at the Pioneer Inn, as a bartender. Sylvia was a very beautiful, social and outgoing person; with the gift of gab. She had many friends and made new friends everywhere she went. Sylvia is survived by her mother, Frances Arocha; sisters, Blanca (Larry) Lawton, Jo Ann (Tim Grosse) Vasquez all of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Rudy (Kathy) Arocha of Georgia, Jimmy (Linda) Arocha of Houston, TX, and Lewis Arocha San Antonio TX and Morgan Arocha of San Antonio, TX; 11 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Janie Arocha of San Antonio TX. Sylvia is further survived by many friends including: Joanna and Bryan Schultz, Mary Garcia, Tom and Ginger Hanson, Tina Rasor, Joyce Portelli, Scott and Vicky Radford, and Anna Anne Butler. She was preceded in death by her father Climaco Sr., and one brother, Climaco Jr.A celebration of Sylvias Life will be at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish-St. Marys Site, 605 Merritt Ave, Oshkosh, with Father Joseph Mattern officiating. Friends and family may visit at the church from 4:00 pm until the time of service. A memorial fund is being established in her name.We would like to give a special thank you to Aurora Medical Center, Oshkosh also Aurora St. Lukes Milwaukee ICU and all the doctors and staff, especially Dr. Janusonis, for the wonderful care that was given to Sylvia. Special thanks are also extended to all her friends and family especially her neighbors at Marion Manor for all their love and support.
