Thomas Delano Zak

Thomas Tom D. Zak, 79, of Oshkosh, died February 25, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on March 19, 1935, son of the late Flavian and Marion (Appel) Zak. Tom married Joyce Felhofer on August 21, 1954 in Door County, WI.Tom worked at WG&R as a salesman for 32 years and later worked at Rohners Furniture store as a sales manager for eleven years. Tom was a very handy man with a heart of gold and loved to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He especially liked woodworking and building bird houses. Tom loved all sports, but particularly golf, baseball, and watching College basketball. He also spent a lot of time watching his sons and grandchildren play sports. Tom also was proud to say he served his country in the U.S. Navy. In retirement he enjoyed working part time at Lake Breeze Golf Course and volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul.Tom is survived by his sons, Tom ( Janet) Zak, Todd (Linda) Zak, Troy (Connie) Zak and Tim (Lynn) Zak; grandchildren, Andrea, Tommy, Tyler, Tanner, Ryan, Sean, Bailey, Cody, Lyndsey and Samantha; sister, Karon (Gerald) Kita; brothers, Jim (Ruth) Zak and Bill (Sally) Zak; many nieces, nephews and cousins.He is further survived by sisters in law, Betty Rozek, Rose Olson, Sue (Rod) Robinson; and brother in law Joseph (Bev) Felhofer.Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brothers in law Richard Rozek and Donald Olson.Funeral services for Thomas will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Konrad-Behlman funeral Home-Westside, with Rev. William Vande Kreeke officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Oshkosh.Toms family would like to send a special thank you to the hospice staff and the staff of the 2nd floor at Mercy Medical Center for their love and compassion.
