Thomas Robert Hintz

d. November 17, 2013

Thomas R. Hintz, 59, of Oshkosh passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born on February 1, 1954 in Milwaukee, WI to Lionel and Audrey Hintz. Tom graduated from UW-Oshkosh where he met Lee Ann Roberts and on August 21, 1976 was lucky enough to marry her. After having two beautiful daughters, they returned to Oshkosh from Milwaukee where he began Keglers Korner Bowling Pro Shop. Thanks to the success of his 20 years of hard work and cohorts Tim Mathe and Wes Langkau, he was able to sell his business and retire at the age of 46. During his retirement he kept himself busy with many different PROJECTS, gardening, landscaping, quilting and spent a lot of time with his much cherished granddaughters. He is survived by his wife Lee Ann (Roberts), his daughters Jillian (Adam) Rooker of Plymouth, WI and Kathryn Hintz (Dan Bandt) of Darboy, WI, granddaughters McCartney and Evelyn Rooker, Adelynn Kohlbeck, his brand new grandson, Henry Bandt, his mother-in-law Audrey Roberts, brothers and sisters Michael (Sheryl) Hintz, Lee Hintz, Tammy (Nic) Mueller, Randy Hintz (Edward Hoover), Jody Avery, Gerry Avery, Tony Hintz and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his adopted brother Baby Tony Hintz and his father-in-law Thomas Roberts. On Thursday, November 21st from 11:00am to 4:00pm there will be an open house held at his home. This will be a celebration of Toms life and we encourage those of you with whom he touched to join us with your memories, stories and any of his bad jokes you may remember. Thank you to all of the friends and family who have helped and visited in the past 2 months. He felt truly blessed to have so many people out there that cared about him and his family. His wife and daughters would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the care he received from the doctors and nurses in the emergency room and ICU at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, The Neuroscience Group in Neenah, Theda Care in Oshkosh, Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Center and Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology, S.C.
