Virginia Mary Novotny

March 7, 1925 — July 8, 2006

Virginia M. Novotny, 81, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side after a courageous 10 month battle with cancer. Virginia was born on March 7, 1925, the last of eight children born to Frank and Adeline Penzenstadler. She married Donald Luetke in 1945. Virginia later married William Novotny Jr. June 28, 1973 in Oshkosh. Virginia worked for Winnebago Mental Health Institute as a Nurses Aide retiring in 1988 after 30 years. Virginia was also co-operator of the Split Level Tavern with William. They enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas, and trips to Oneida Casino.Virginia is survived by her husband of 33 years, William, one daughter, Pamela (Rick) Billington of Oshkosh, and one step-daughter, Julie (David) Hallock of Neenah, two sisters, Clara Nigl and Erna Frohrib both of Oshkosh; eight grand children, Becky (Darrin) Kizer of PA, Lori (Raul) Warbelton of Pewaukee, Shauna and Justin Hallock of Neenah, Scott Billington of Oshkosh, Heather (Bruce) Miller of Oshkosh, Tammy (Dan) Christianson of Berlin, and Theresa Billington of Sturgeon Bay; she is further survived by 13 great-grand children, a sister-in-law, Arlyle Beyer of Oshkosh, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her beloved dog, Buffy. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Luedtke, grandson, Ronald Anderson Jr; two brothers, Frank and Alfred Penzenstadler, three sisters, Adeline Kuehn, Cecelia Robl, and Sylvia Manion. In keeping with Virginias wishes, a private family service will be held. Inurnment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. Virginias family would like to give a special thank you to Aurora Hospice Nurses, Jennifer, Nell, Marsha, and Kevin, and to Mr. Wheeler of Caring Connections and Home Companions, Patty Luci, Vicki, Dianne; to the supportive owners and staff of Two Brothers Restaurant for all their kindness and compassion.
