Virginia Roethlisberger

Virginia Boots R. Roethlisberger, 89, of Oshkosh, passed away on March 14, 2008 at Bethel Home. She was born on August 26, 1918 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Roy and Edna (Lorenzen) LaBuwi. She married Harold E. Roethlisberger on February 23, 1938. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1967. She was a graduated of Oshkosh High School, a member of the First Evangelical United Brethren Church, a Past President of the Opti-Mrs, and a long time volunteer and member of the Bethel Auxiliary. Virginia was a caring wife and mother who always found the right words to encourage or bring a smile to those around her. Her kindness and generosity touched many people.She is survived by two daughters Jean(David) Sweet, Lynne(Elroy) Harmelink, one brother Robert(Bernice) LaBuwi, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Roy and Audrey Roethlisberger, four nephews, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband and a son Lee R. Roethlisberger.A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday March 22, 2008 at the Bethel Home Chapel-225 N. Eagle St. A light sandwich buffet will be served following the service.Virginias family extends its appreciation to the staff of Bethel Home for the outstanding care they provided for Virginia, and gratitude to friends who have been so supportive.
