William Andrew Ristow

William A. Ristow, 80, of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to William E. and Lucy M. (Schulz) Ristow on April 29, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wl. He was two years old when his parents moved to Oshkosh.He graduated from St. Vincent School (Junior High) in 1951 and from Oshkosh High School in 1954. Bill married Thelma Enders on November 7, 1964 at St. Fridolin Catholic Church in Glenbeulah, Wisconsin.Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1958. He was a purchasing agent at Morgan Company for sixteen years and then at Leach Company for 28 years. "Uncle Bill" made many friends during the years he worked as a bartender in the Caboose at the Pioneer Inn and at George's Gaslight Inn. He truly enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people. Grandpa enjoyed attending his children's andgrandchildren's athletic and music events. He always looked forward to time spent with the grandchildren.Bill is survived by his wife, Thelma Ristow, five children and six grandchildren, all in Wisconsin- James (Lisa) of Pelican Lake, Lora (Richard) Niemoeller and their children Andrew and Megan of Whitefish Bay, Kim Van Wychen and her children Brennan and Sydney of Suamico, Robert (Anne) and their children Eleanor and Abigail of Menomonee Falls, and Donald of Pelican Lake. He is further survived by his brother-in-law, Duane (Jane) Enders and their family of Plymouth; Cousin, Paul (Donna) Schulz of New Lenox, IL; life-long friend, Ted Weber of Little Chute; as well as many other friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.A mass of Christian burial for Bill will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Most Blessed Sacrament (St Marys Site). Visitation will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at St. Marys Site from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice and Preferred Home Health Care for all the love and care they provided for Bill.
