William "Bill" Ristow Judkins

September 29, 1928 — October 13, 2018

William “Bill” Ristow Judkins passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at his home after a struggle with prostate cancer. Bill was born on September 29, 1928 in Oshkosh, WI to Leonard and Louise (Ristow) Judkins. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. His commanding officer wanted him to make the Army his career, but he just wanted to go home and marry the love of his life, Lois Johnson, which he did on April 18, 1953 at Peace Lutheran Church.

Bill was a carpenter. He built many homes and did remodeling jobs in Oshkosh. Bill would go by a house that he either built or worked on and would know who had lived there and what the remodeling project had been. This was his passion. He also built homes for his family, the first one on Bowen Street the summer after he and Lois were married, and the latest one in the 90’s in White Lake, WI. Our family spent over 55 years at Langlade, WI on the Wolf River, where Bill built another family home. So many good times were spent there.

Bill is survived by his “sweetie” of 65 years, Lois, his daughter Nancy, his two foster daughters: Betty Carpenter and Edna Brown and their families and nieces and nephews, and his little barking buddy Bella.

Proceeding him in death were his parents; sisters: Elaine and Donna Judkins; brothers: Ronald (Blanche) Greenlaw, Norm (Ellen) Greenlaw, Leonard and David Judkins; a niece, Carol Greenlaw and a nephew, Roger Bessette.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home – Eastside, 402 Waugoo Avenue, with Rev. Timothy Greenwald officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. with the service to follow. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh. In lieu of flowers, please give to Oshkosh Area Humane Society, First English Lutheran Church, or Affinity Hospice.

The family would like to thank the Affinity Hospice Team and Right At Home for their compassionate care they gave Bill, especially Carrie, Pam, Vai, Katie and Kayla.
