William Leo Stevenson

July 30, 1924 — June 20, 2008

William Bill L. Stevenson, 83, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at Park View Health Center-Woodside with his son at his side. He was born on July 30, 1924 in Oshkosh a son of William H. and Lydia C. Kuebler Stevenson On May 28, 1949 he married Jean B. Marx. She preceded him in death on April 19, 1986.Bill graduated from Oshkosh High School in June 1942 and entered the U.S. Army in March 1943. He served in the infantry, Air Force 1344th Combat Engineers and the Quartermasters until March of 1946. In March of 1947 he enlisted in the Naval Reserve in Oshkosh and served five years. He was employed at the Wisconsin National Life Insurance Company fro 44 years and retired in 1987. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the Board of Adult Education, Board of Church Properties and had volunteered in the church office for number of years. Bill was also a member of EAA and a docent at the EAA Museum. He worked on the flight line as a flagman during the EAA convention for a few years.He is survived by one son Scott of Oshkosh, two grandchildren Kyle and Alecia Stevenson, sisters-in-law Betty(Bartelt) Stevenson, Dorothy(Marx) Boeder, brother-in-law Wesley Marx along with numerous nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his wife, infant son Mark, parents, two brothers Gilbert, Gordon, and his sister-in-law Harriet(Durkee) StevensonFuneral services will be held on Tuesday June 24, 2008 at 7 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside with Rev. Marvin Ahlborn officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 4 pm. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.Special thanks to the staff of Park View Health Center for their care of Bill.
