Winnifred Moxie Mcclory

October 25, 2019 — April 26, 2023

Winnifred “Freddie” M. McClory passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison. She was born as a triplet on October 25, 2019, in Green Bay to Robert McClory and Carrie Brooks.

Known for her bright smile, Freddie always lit up the room. She made friends everywhere she went, kids and adults alike. Freddie adored her three brothers, but was “best, best, best buddies” with her biggest brother Bobby. Freddie was very sweet, and lived up to her middle name, Moxie in every way. Freddie loved her grandparents and extended family, and would squeal with delight to greet her favorite people. Freddie loved riding her tricycle around the neighborhood and playing outside (but not in the snow). Freddie loved Cocomelon, Ariel, Skye from Paw Patrol, rainbows, and unicorns. Freddie always wanted a good snuggle (especially in the mornings). Freddie loved thrills, like tall slides, climbing out of her crib, and riding front and center on Mama’s bike. Freddie was a fighter from the beginning, squished on the bottom in the womb. Nevertheless, determined to share her light in our lives, she fought and thrived. Her moxie was always evident; she was persistent, and always made achievements on her own timeline with a giant smile. Born first and the smallest of the triplets, she completed our family and we will always miss her light and laughter.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the love, care, and support provided to our family at American Family Children’s Hospital. The PICU team is made up of truly remarkable individuals. Staff cared for our whole family during the most difficult days of our lives, with love, patience, and compassion.

Freddie is survived by her parents: Bob McClory and Carrie Brooks; brothers: Bobby Jr., Bruce, Atlas; grandparents: Brenda (Phil) Gabrielson, Ronnie McClory; uncles: Joseph McClory, Kelly Brooks, Shannon (Lisa) Graybrook; aunt, Connie (Shawn) Gens; and cousins: Karma Brooks, Eloise and Forrest Graybrook, and Ava and Ethan Gens. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Bruce Brooks and Larry McClory.

A memorial service for Freddie will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Menominee Park, Shelter 2, in Oshkosh. Celebrations of her life will continue at the park immediately after the service until 2:00 pm.

Freddie

You don’t know how lucky you are,

When the galaxy lends you a star.

It’s amazingly bright,

Shining beautiful light.

You’ll always be close though you’re far.

What a wonderful fun little girl,

With her giggles and head full of curls.

God damn was she tough,

Our time wasn’t enough.

Not one like her in all the wide world.

She came in a fun set of three,

So much joy on her face to see.

She was truly amazing,

Her own trail always blazing.

Just how lucky can her parents be.

Let me tell you ‘bout my little Freddie.

Seems she’ll come and go when she’s ready.

She spread love all around,

Always smiles to be found.

She hasn’t shared all her light already.
