Yvonne Chance Rucks

Yvonne Chance Rucks, 85 of Oshkosh, died at Bethel Home on Wednesday Feb. 18, 2009, one day after her 85th birthday. She was born in Oshkosh on Feb. 17, 1924, the only child of the late Joseph and Bernice Hough Angoli. She married Russell A. Bradley in Oshkosh in 1972. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1975. She then married Wilbur J. Rucks on July 3, 1977 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 1995.Chance was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She had been employed in the paint department at Sears & Roebuck Co. for 27 years. She was known by many in the community as the paint lady. Chance was a member of the Sears Retiree Group, loved crafts, traveling to Arkansas and growing Orchids. Survivors include three step-daughters, Linda Carder, Oshkosh; Karen (Vernon) Whereatt, Wausau; and Mona Eaton, Oshkosh; two step-sons, Ron Rucks, of Arkansas; and Terry Rucks, Oshkosh; two special step grandchildren, Jennifer Carder, Madison and Katie Carder, Oshkosh and several other step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step daughter, Kathy Ibsen.Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 at Plymouth Congregational Church (1325 Georgia St.) at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rick Hopkins officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 AM to the time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial has been established to Dream Weaver Program at Bethel Home or the Bethel Home Foundation.Special thanks to all the caregivers on 2West at Bethel Home and Esther, for their care and compassion.
