Alex Fenrich

March 28, 1994 — January 2, 2026

Alex Robert Fenrich passed away in December. He was born on March 28, 1994.

Alex started life on oxygen, quietly taking everything in and teaching us that observation can be one of the greatest ways to learn. By age one, he picked up the pace, and by age two, he had met all of his milestones.

Alex cherished his time with his Boy Scout troop. He took pride in the skills and life lessons he learned and was grateful for the leadership of Mike Messing and Dan Benish. He especially enjoyed being tent buddies with his fellow Scout and friend, Brandon Rogala. Alex graduated from North High School.

Alex was the kind of employee everyone hoped to have, known for his strong work ethic. His last place of employment was Amcor, and he deeply cherished and admired his boss, Jeremy, at The Varsity.

Alex marched to the beat of his own drum and was completely comfortable doing so. His knowledge of the Bible was remarkable, though he rarely shared it unless challenged. When he did, he amazed others by quoting chapter and verse, offering wisdom few expected him to have.

Alex is survived by his cherished cats, Zelda and Link, whom he considered his children; his mother, Karen; his siblings Brian, Adam, Melissa, Trevor (Natalie), Hope (Verbal), and Andrew (Randi) Fenrich; and his nieces and nephews Savannah (Conrad), Nicholas (Torie), Brandon (Jenna), Penelope, Addalynn, Grace, Vhincent, Nilani, and Wattson; great-niece & great-nephew, Noelle and Carson along with many friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings Davona and Nicholas Fenrich.

Alex truly enjoyed life. He loved going to concerts, hosting poker nights with friends at his apartment, and building his collection of video games. Through gaming, he made many friendships, especially playing Guitar Hero, which grew into his love of guitars-he always carried a guitar pick with him. He was always ready to game with or challenge someone.

Alex enjoyed spending time at the gun range, jumping out of an airplane (which he had planned to do again-now he watches over us from Heaven), going to casinos with friends, and collecting coins. He was a very organized person, a skill he took pride in since toddlerhood. And not to be forgotten was his love of chocolate milk.

He treasured attending the annual Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert with his brother Trevor. He admired Adam for his knowledge and loved the joy and laughter his brother Andrew shared. In their early years, Alex and his sister Hope were often mistaken for twins, even though they looked nothing alike. His nephew Nick, growing up, always wanted to be just like Alex and admired how confidently Alex lived life to his own rhythm, regardless of what others thought.

A Celebration of Alex's Life will be held at the Gibson Social Club, 537 N. Main St., on January 16 from 1:00-7:00 PM.

All of Alex's friends, coworkers, acquaintances, and family are encouraged to attend.
Let us celebrate Alex's life together.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Alex's name for veterinary bill for pet owners who can not afford the costs.

God blessed me with you, Alex. When no one thought you would make it to a year, God and I knew you were special. You had so much love to give. Our time was short; thank goodness life ends with a semicolon and not a period.

Within my heart, I cry for you. Please remember you will always be my dearest Alex. Our smiles and hugs-especially the ones you never skipped, even on Christmas Day-were meant just for us. You always stopped to visit, asking, "Can I do anything for you, Mom?" I treasure our lunches, the flowers you brought me for no reason, and the special spaghetti dinner you and your friends made for me and my ladies-then cleaned everything up afterward.

Your patience and understanding helped my love grow with joy. Even though God has taken you, I will always be your mom. I walk in sunshine knowing your arms were always open. You were always there for me.

Now you are with God, in a place so warm and tender that it feels as though you have never left, for God's love does not surrender. He will guide you, just as you guided me. I was the special one-to have you love me.

Go now, my son, as your family, Link and Zelda, and your friends smile through memories that bring both joy and tears. We pray you are always in our hearts and prayers. What a precious gift God gave us, even if only for a short while.

Thank you, God.
And always remember, Alex, the love I send with you.

Until we meet again.
Love & God Bless,
Mom
