Arthur Reed Crook

Arthur Reed Crook,95, of Oshkosh passed away on August 15, 2026. He was born in Mackford Prairie, WI on January 30, 1931, to the late David and Catherine (Roberts) Crook.

Art attended grade schools in Rosendale and Markesan. He joined the Army in 1948 and served in Alaska and Okinawa. He married Ruby Bloedow in Port Townsend, Washington. He was baptized and confirmed on December 21, 1952, at St. Pauls Ev. Lutheran Church in North Fond du lac. Art worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling, US Motors and Oshkosh Truck. For many years he operated and owned Crook Paint & Body Shop. Art loved collecting old cars and was a member of the Central Wisconsin Auto Collectors.

Art is survived by his sons, Douglas Crook, Dean (Kathy) Crook; daughters, Debra Crook and Darlene (Chris) Karoses; 8 grandchildren: Craig Crook, Brad (Christina) Crook, Andy (Mary) Mahlke, Jessica Mahlke, Kayla Karoses, Joshua (Elizabeth), Jesse (Emily), and Jacob (Amanda) Crook; fourteen great grandchildren, Christina (Phil) Putskey, Brett Mahlke, Devon Krause, Jordan Koseck, Will Zeddies, Bryce, Liam, Caleb, Eli, Canaan, Eden, Andrew, Adeline, Amelia, Cameron, and Cason Crook; three sister in laws, Lucy Crook, Karen Crook, and Barbara Bloedow, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Art was preceded in death by his wife Ruby; son, David; six siblings: Mae (Lyle) Giffey, Marjorie (Elwyn) Hopkins, Roy, Glen, Donald (Ruth), and Thomas Crook;

Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 913 Nebraska Street, Oshkosh, WI, on August 27, at 1:30pm. A visitation will be held from 11:30 until the time of service.

A special thank you to all the staff at hospice. They all showed compassion and care for Art. He enjoyed your visits with him.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Women's Organization of Grace Lutheran-Oshkosh.
