Barbara E. Paulos

January 29, 1951 — June 14, 2023

Barbara E. Paulos, age 72, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully Wednesday June 14, 2023 at her residence. She was born on January 29, 1951, in Oshkosh WI, daughter of Nathan and Dolores Rehm Paulos.

Barb was an amazing, strong woman. She liked life to be simple, and uncomplicated, though we all know it rarely is. Anytime she got to do stuff with Mom, Dad, family or friends, was precious.

She enjoyed parties in the backyard during EAA, along with corn roast. She was willing to sew up anything and made wreaths for all to enjoy. Her absolute love for Christmas, and gift giving, so she could spoil all her children, grand and great, was unmatched. Her rummage sale shopping, with Duane in tow, knowing where every sale was around town would fill many weekends along with every available space in her home.

Barb was a dedicated hard worker too, starting at a young age working the kitchen being able to bring home food to her family was one of her proudest moments. This single act was symbolic of how Barb spent her whole life caring for others. From there she went onto Buckstaff, GNC, then moved to Whitehall where she worked in the processing plant until they closed, that is when she become the lead foreman of a home improvement crew. After moving back to Oshkosh, she worked at Oshkosh B’Gosh until they closed, finally landing at Parkview where she retired from after doing what she loved to do; caring for others.

I know she is here smiling with us, while reuniting with family and friends. Running around laughing and singing. Well, when she's not wrestling with the one arm bandits at the casinos.

Until we meet again, we all love you.

She is survived by one son, Gary(Nicole) Van Schindel; one daughter, Kelly(James) Dubinski; six grandchildren, Kamden, Kade, Kalia, Justine, Kaily(Greg), Ashley; three step-grandchildren Andrew(Amanda), Erin(Mike) and Mathew; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George(Sue) Paulos, Nick(Lorelle) Paulos; four sisters, Linda(Ames) Wade, Donna(Rusty) Herzig, Gale Martiny, Paula Hesek; and her long time significant other, Duane Zacher; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and significant others Gary C. Van Schindel, Norbert(Nubs) C. Dubinski.
