Barbara Louise Laabs

Barbara L. Laabs, age 82 of Oshkosh, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on July 4, 1934 in Knoxville, TN a daughter of Nathaniel and Madeline Pennock King. On August 7, 1962 she married Lester Laabs in Oshkosh. She was a seamstress for many years and enjoyed baking, crocheting, gardening, ceramics, sewing, and spending time with her family.She is survived by her husband; her children: Pat (John) Walton, Gail (Dan) Krimpelbein, Cathy (Jim) Schultz, Tom (Barb) Laabs, James (Diana) Laabs, Joe Laabs, and Diane (John) Haverson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: Phyllis Hernandz and Stephanie Thomko; many nieces and nephews that she was close to.She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Melvin Kuehn; a daughter, Robin Laabs; two brothers and two sisters.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Lake View Memorial Park chapel at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A memorial has been established.The family would like to thank the staff of Evergreen Rehabilitation and Mercy Medical Center ICU for their compassionate care.Barbara was a person that took pride in her family and friends. She will be loved and missed dearly.
