Barbara Patrie

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Patrie (Bottkol), who left us peacefully on December 17, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born to August and Lorraine (Dittmer) Ruedinger on April 15, 1941. Barb was a vibrant and loving soul who touched the lives of everyone she met. Barb graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1959 and continued her education at Edgewood University. Barb married John "Ed" Edward Bottkol at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on August 4, 1962. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Lisa, into the world. Their journey together was a beautiful one, lasting until Ed's passing in 1975. In 1980, Barb married Willard “Bill” Carl Patrie in Illinois, and brought even more joy with the arrival of her two children, Vicki and Kris. They were together until Bill’s passing in 1997. Barb had a passion for playing piano, even playing mass at St. Peter's in her younger years. Her love for reading and playing card games was only rivaled by her enjoyment of family get-togethers, where stories, memories and laughter were shared around the table. Barb is survived by her daughters, Lisa Cornell (Jeff) and Vicki Preisler (Joe), along with her son, Kris Patrie, and her treasured grandchildren, Madeline Foord, Arielle Preisler, and Blaine Preisler. She also leaves behind her siblings Nancy Muraski and Leroy (Pat) Ruedinger, as well as stepchildren and numerous step-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished. Barb is preceded in death by her two loving husbands and her parents, along with her brothers, Roger (Claudia) Ruedinger and Larry Ruedinger, and brother-in-law, Dick Muraski. In celebration of Barb's beautiful life, we invite friends and family to join us for a visitation at Konrad-Behlman-West on April 17, 2026, at 1:30 PM, followed by a joyful memorial service at 3:00 PM. Let’s gather together to share stories, laughter, and cherished memories just as Barb would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her honor. Barb's spirit will live on in our hearts, and we look forward to celebrating her life together.
