Betty Jane Ahrens

March 4, 1932 — May 4, 2026

Betty Jane Ahrens passed away on May 4, 2026, at her home in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She was born on March 4, 1932, in the Town of Deer Creek, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, to Robert Ray Daskam III and Melissa Elizabeth Ann (Mansfield) Daskam. On August 25, 1951, she married Darwin Emil Ahrens. Together they raised their family in Oshkosh. Darwin preceded her in death July 31, 2000.

Betty was employed in a variety of roles throughout her life, most recently serving as a patient transporter at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening and decorating her home both inside and out. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, which was her final outing. Above all, Betty's greatest pride and joy was her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Betty is survived by her children: Debbie (Mark) Mehlberg of Oshkosh; Kathy (Todd) Koss of Waupaca; Cindy (Ted) Baier of Oshkosh; Bryon (Patti) Ahrens of Oshkosh; Bruce (Michelle) Ahrens of Oshkosh; and Bonnie Ahrens of Oshkosh.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Curt (Lori) Fuller of Florida; Cory (April) Fuller of Oshkosh; Crystal Fuller (Justin Rusch) of Oshkosh; Stacy (Sean) Hazelwood of Oshkosh; Nathan Koss of Clintonville; Cody Koss of Oshkosh; Melissa Baier of Oshkosh; Jacob (Lucy Ann) Baier of Oshkosh; Travis (Nikki) Ahrens Illinois; Emily Ahrens of Oshkosh; Ben (Steph) Ahrens of Minnesota; Blake Ahrens of Oshkosh; Ryan (Vanessa) Liechtnam of Oshkosh; and Austin (Kayla) Liechtnam, of Holmen, Wisconsin.

She is also survived by 24 great-grandchildren, with one on the way, and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as her brothers-in-law, Earl (Millie) Kussmann and Howard Ahrens.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one grandchild, Nick Ahrens. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert (June) Daskam, and Dorothy (Bruce) Starkel. Also preceding her in death were her in-laws: Marilyn (Jerome) Lautenschlager, Arlyce (Donald) Stowe, and Donald (Nancy) Ahrens.

Funeral services will be held on May 11, 2026, at All Saints Lutheran Church, 1072 Honey Creek Rd. (just off Hwy. 21), Oshkosh, WI. With visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m., Burial will at Lake View Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Boulevard, Oshkosh, WI.
