Betty Lorraine Stelzner (nee Wegner) passed away from this life into the next in the early morning hours on Friday, April 8, 2022. She was 90 years old. Born June 13, 1931 to the late Eldor and Evelyn Wegner on a small farm in Maplehurst WI; she spent many happy days there with her parents, two sisters, and her paternal grandfather. She would recall stories of attending a one room school there. When the family gave up farming they moved to Oshkosh when Betty was just a teen.
She attended Nordheim School and there met her future husband and lifelong partner, Arthur. Theirs was a true love story. She was 13 and he was 15 when he saw this shy young girl standing at the school entrance and declared “she’s the one for me!” Betty graduated Oshkosh High School and the couple planned their wedding and we’re married on July 15, 1950 at the first Congregational church here in Oshkosh. Together they built a life, a home, and a family. During her married years, Betty loved to read, garden, cook, sew, and tend their home.
She and Art belong to the Timber Topper Square Dance Club where they made many happy memories together. Betty sewed most of her square dance dresses and would also sew for her daughter and her grandsons. Betty and Art had the blessing of nearly 72 years of marriage. During this time, they traveled with relatives and friends and later bought an RV and traveled with family. In later years they purchased a home in Mesa, AZ which they enjoyed in the winter months.
Betty is survived by her loving husband Arthur, three children, Devin (Katherine) Stelzner of Mesa, AZ, Tamara Schuster (nee Stelzner) of Oshkosh, WI, and Aaron (Jennifer) of Princeton, WI. Grandchildren Derek (Teresa) Schuster of Oshkosh, WI, Joshua (Debra) Schuster of Green Bay, WI, and Brittnay, Zachary, and Shannon Stelzner all of Princeton, WI. Betty is further survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara (Peter) Jiricka, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Also preceding her and death were her brothers-in-law, Donald (Phyllis) Stelzner and Roger and Gerald Stelzner. Nephews, Curtis Sitter, Paul Roland, and niece Andrea (nee Sitter) Gill.
