Brian James Nevins, 70, passed away unexpectedly September 2, 2026 in Oshkosh, Wis. Brian was born on August 6, 1956 in New York, New York to James and Kathleen Nevins, the second oldest of four children.
Brian met his wife Mary as a college freshman at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wis. They dated for five years before marrying in Neenah, Wis. Brian was a lifelong Packer fan, something he was proud to say he discovered as a child growing up in northern Virginia surrounded by Redskins fans. If the game was on TV, you most likely heard him yelling at the TV or clapping in praise. Brian loved all sports including baseball and basketball.
Brian was 100% Irish and let everyone know it. He often gave Mary a hard time because she wasn't 100% Irish. He loved to tell stories, gather with friends and family, was loyal and faithful.
Brian is survived by Mary, and his three children, Maureen (Michael) Alley, Waunakee, Wis.; Christopher (Emilie) Nevins, Neenah, Wis.; and Margaret (Michael) Nevins, Sun Prairie, Wis.; and two grandsons, Sean and Patrick Alley. He is also survived by a sister, Kathleen (Greg) Childs, and two brothers James (Maureen) Nevins, and Terence Nevins.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Kathleen Nevins, in-laws John and Lenore Dunlavy, and his nephew Nicholas Childs.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 8 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh, Wis. with a Mass to follow.
" ... until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
