Carol Jean Yearwood

Carol J. Yearwood, age 86 of Oshkosh passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center on July 26, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Waushara County on January 19, 1940, to the late George and Evelyn (Kulibert) McBriar. She was united in marriage to Milo Moran on July 16, 1960, and had one son, Steve. Milo preceded her in death on May 28, 2012. She found love again, and married Ray Yearwood on June 14, 2014.

For over 35 years, Carol dedicated her time and talents as the church secretary at Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Outside of her work, she was an enthusiastic square dancer, bringing joy and rhythm to the Timber Toppers Square Dance Club and the Square Dance Campers. Carol had a passion for camping and traveling, always seeking adventures and creating lasting memories with friends and family. Her greatest joy was devoting her life to being the best mother and grandmother she could be. She was also a talented homemaker, proud of her beautiful garden; often sharing her garden harvest with others.

Carol is survived by her husband, Ray Yearwood; son, Steven (Michele) Moran; stepson, Chris Yearwood; grandchildren, Brady (Chelsea) Moran and Mikayla (Sam) Mosher; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Sophie, and Hazel Grace who is on the way; brother, Robert (Dianna) McBriar; sister, Mary Ellen (Jerry) Braasch.

In addition to her parents, George and Evelyn McBriar, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Milo Moran.

A funeral service for Carol will be held at Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church, 1526 Algoma Blvd. on July 30 at 10:30. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 until the time of the service. A private burial will be held at Ellenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Martin Luther Church in Carols memory.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Hospice, especially the nurses: Brit, Cameron, and Dr. Alramini as well as Kim and the rest of the staff with Evergreen at Home for the wonderful and loving care they gave to Carol.
