Christine E. Applebee

Christine E. Applebee, age 86 of Oshkosh, passed away surrounded by her family on August 26, 2026. She was born on April 18, 1940 to the late Robert and Mae (Anderson) Collins. She was united in marriage to Leslie Applebee Sr. on December 6, 1969.

Christine spent nearly four decades working as a dietary aid and supervisor at Mercy Medical Center, where her warm heart and dedication left a lasting impact. After retiring, she continued to serve her community as a Noon Supervisor at Merrill Elementary School and enjoyed volunteering at Mercy Medical Center. A faithful member of Grace Bible Church, Christine cherished her family above all else. She created countless memories on camping trips, spent countless hours crafting—especially crocheting and working with plastic canvas—and delighted in baking treats, often for her garbage man in exchange for returning her bins. She was also a passionate collector of nutcrackers!

Christine is survived by her children: Paula Rothe, Timothy Doolittle, Dawn (Carl) Becker and JoAnn (Bill) Drexler-Borden; grandchildren, Mike (Cindy) Rothe, Matt (Kari) Rothe, Charissa Doolittle, David (Betsy) Doolittle, Angela (JR) Grundman, Mandi (fiancé Brett Odle) Gulch, Melinda (Matt) Albrecht, Mark (Brittany) Dodd, Gabby (Mark) Schneider and Brandon Drexler; great-grandchildren: Darien (Tyler), Aaron, Joseph, Abigail, Samantha, Brittney, Allyson, Sawyer, Grace, Alana, Bradon Gulch (fiancée Chloe), Collin, Ethan, Emma, Haven and Nash; great-great-grandchildren, Destiny, Natalie, Rayna, Zamir, Katalaya and Sincer; siblings, Maynard Collins, Robert Collins and Kathy (David) Rymer. She is further survived by her stepchildren, Diana Redemann, Leslie (Sheri) Applebee Jr and Kevin (Valinda) Applebee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie; son-in-law, Arlin Rothe; grandchild: Meredith Jape; great-grandchild: Meghan; sisters: Roberta Haase and Marcella Collins.

A funeral service for Christine will take place at Grace Bible Church, 145 W 24th Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54902 on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Park.
