Christine Ann Weston, age 73, died March 4, 2026 of Glioblastoma Multiforme, 14 months after diagnosis. Compassus Hospice saw to it that she experienced the comfort and dignity she deserved. Chris was born April 24, 1952 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay to parents Theodore John and Marian Ann (Nellis) Campshure the second of five children. She graduated from Green Bay West High School and furthered her education by spending two years at UW-Green Bay and transferring and graduating from the UW-Milwaukee School of Nursing. She was employed in Milwaukee at Mt. Sinai Medical Center for eight years. There she met and married Robert L. Weston in June of 1978.
After her husband’s training in Internal Medicine was complete the couple moved to Oshkosh, WI where they spend the rest of their lives.
Chris accepted a position at the UW-Oshkosh School of Nursing as a teaching assistant. She spent three years there and liked to say she paid off the mortgage of their home.
Chris loved to volunteer and belonged to many organizations including the Infant Welfare Seat Program, glaucoma screening, hospice, VNA Board where she evaluated policies and procedures, St. Vincent de Paul, Ascension Mercy Hospital, Miller’s Bay Neighborhood Association, Lakeside Quilters and the Winnebago Medical Alliance. Chris was a master gardener, member of the Symphony Association, numerous book clubs and always had fun with her friends, be it the Monday Club or Busy Fingers. She liked to comment to Bob before the internet if he asked her a question, “look it up at the library then tell the class.”
She enjoyed sports and bicycling and was an owner of the Green Bay Packers. A proud moment was when she completed a century ride in Door County. Chris enjoyed traveling with her husband and his parents and kept fit walking her four dogs she owned over the 47 years of marriage to Bob.
Over the years Chris donated monies to various causes including the K9 Kare fund at the Oshkosh Police Department and to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society. She exercised at and gave monies to the Oshkosh Senior Center as well as Wisconsin Public Television, Wisconsin Public Radio and the Fox Valley Memory Project.
Chris is survived by her husband, Bob, a brother Steve (Sue) Campshure, sister Carolyn (Christopher) Sampson, and four nephews, Zach (Chanda) Campshure, Jake (Kim) Campshure and his children, Kevin (Kate Schneider) Sampson and William Sampson. She is further survived by Bob’s four siblings and their children (seven nieces and nephews and two great nieces).
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gerald and Thomas and numerous aunts and uncles, as well as Clayton and Everly Weston.
The family wants to thank the staff of the Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Center, Kyle, Holly, and the volunteers at the Fox Valley Memory Project and the incredible staff and caregivers at Compassus Hospice.
Kudos to Carol Beth Weston for keeping the refrigerator full, to Carolyn Jean Sampson for faithful weekly visits and participating in the “Oshkosh restaurant tour,” and to the many neighbors, friends and family who brought food, companionship, shoveled sidewalks and driveway and many who delivered thoughts and prayers. These gestures were heartfelt and deeply appreciated.
In lieu of flowers a scholarship has been established at the UW-Oshkosh Foundation as the Christine Ann Weston Graduate Nurse Scholarship.
A celebration of life and service will be held in Chris’ memory at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 beginning at 9:00 AM with 90 minutes of visitation followed by a service with music and memories shared. Cremation has occurred and interment will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery.
May God bless you Chris.
