Christopher D. DeCoster

Christopher "Chris" Deforest DeCoster, age 38, of Waupaca, WI, found eternal peace on Saturday, July 19, 2025 after a long battle with mental health, at Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison, WI.

Chris was born on August 12, 1986, son of Ronald DeCoster and Angie Pohlman. He attended the Weyawega-Fremont High School. He worked with a carnival group as a driver that traveled all over the USA. He married Christina Greer in 2009. He loved Christina deeply, even after they were divorced.

Chris was a collector and tinkerer by heart. He loved antiquing with his mom. Chris could see the potential and beauty in what he found on his adventures. He found beauty and value in items others didn't and made them valuable through his eyes. He revived many old clocks and gifted them to his friends and family. In his spare time he could be seen doing odd jobs for others. Chris adored his animals, especially his little tweety birds. He was very eccentric and it showed in the way he embellished his vehicles. His favorite phrase was "Work smarter, not harder".

Chris is survived by his father, Ronald (Nicole) DeCoster; mother, Angie (Duane) Pohlman; sister, Amy (Jared) Nowak; half-siblings, Alex Baumgarten, Elizabeth (John) Peroutka, Nick DeCoster, and Luke DeCoster; step-siblings, Reggie Pohlman and Cassie (Clayton) Tucker; and many grandparents and other relatives.

He is preceded in death by his ex-wife, Christina; and a few beloved grandparents.

A funeral service for Chris will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 12:00pm, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh, WI. A time of visitation will take place from 10:00am until the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
