Rev. Collin A. Hughes,72, of Oshkosh passed away on May 21, 2024 at Aurora Bay Care Center. He and his twin brother, Calvin, were born June 19, 1951 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Warren and Virgina Hughes, after which time the family moved to Connecticut.
Collin graduated from Gilbert High School in Winsted CT in 1969, and immediately went to the Zion Faith Homes in Zion, Illinois, for ministerial training. During his 4 years there, he met Barbara Sienkiewicz, and they married on April 7, 1973. After being ordained into the ministry, Collin, in company with Barbara, pastored at various churches in Hebron, Kentucky; Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Waukegan, Illinois; New Cumberland, Ohio; Fort Worth, Texas; and lastly, they returned to the Glad Tidings Tabernacle in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and pastored there for the last 19 years.
Collin was an avid reader and loved to study The Bible. He played piano and saxophone and had an excellent ear for music.
Collin is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; his daughter, Rita (and TJ) Webb, with their children Makani, Rowena, and Kaylee of Franklin, Ohio; his son Nathaniel of Miamisburg, Ohio; siblings, Valerie Cannon, of Felton, Delaware; Gregory (and Kitty) Hughes of Richmond, Virginia; and Rev. Calvin (and Marilyn) Hughes of Cuba City, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Collin was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes- Westside (100 Lake Pointe) on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11AM. A time of visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of services.
