Danny Lee Robinson, age 72 of Wautoma, passed away on August 2, 2026 at his residence. He was born on October 15, 1953 in Oshkosh to the late Donald and Delores (Baier) Robinson. Danny was united in marriage to Therese Mathe on June 8, 1981 in Oshkosh.
Danny proudly served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973, earning his G.E.D. while stationed in Germany during the Cold War. After completing his service, he dedicated 20 years to Leach Company until his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, Danny loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. He shared his passion for safety and the outdoors by serving as a Hunter Safety instructor, Bow Safety instructor, and Boating Safety instructor. In his leisure time, he enjoyed bowling and cheering on the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. Danny was also a dedicated member of the Disabled American Veterans and served as the Past Chapter Commander for Chapter 51 of the D.A.V. Redgranite. He generously volunteered at the King Veteran’s Home and helped with the Jailbreak marathon for Waushara County.
Danny is survived by his wife, Therese Robinson; daughters, Nicole (Griff Talbot) McKay, Tyna (Jacob) Cumber, and Tami (Captain Christian Hert Sr) Hert; grandchildren, Drew, Hunter and Caleb McKay, Cameron and Payton Cumber, Katrina, Christian Jr., Catherine and Khloe Hert; brothers, Jimmie (Debby) Robinson and Johnny (Sue) Robinson; sisters-and-brothers-in-law, Sr. Carol Mathe, Sr. Barbara Mathe, Dorothy (Mark) Brey, Katherine (Peter) Wilson, Ellen (Alan) Ives, Francis Mathe, Leonard Mathe Jr., George Mathe, Peter (Bonnie) Mathe.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his father-and-mother-in-law, Leonard Sr. and Florence Mathe; sisters-and-brothers-in-law: Mary Beth Mathe, Joseph Mathe and Sue Mathe
A memorial service with Military Honors for Danny will be held at the Main Chapel at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home at King, N 2665 County Rd QQ, King, WI 54946 on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will take place in the chapel from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery.
At the end of Danny’s journey on earth, his life was enriched by the compassionate care he received from ThedaCare at Home, especially from Jodi, Niki, and Melody, who provided him with exceptional support. His family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nathan Coward for the assistance he offered during this difficult time. Mike and Julie Hert stood by the family when they needed it most, demonstrating the profound importance of friendship and love in trying times. The family is immensely grateful to the D.A.V., whose dedication made them feel like part of a larger family.
