David J. Christensen

David J. Christensen, age 79, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away on October 2, 2026, at Park View Health Center, with his family by his side.

David was born on June 9, 1947, in Oshkosh, son of the late Jens Peter Christensen and Betty Mae Brink. He graduated from Oshkosh Highschool. His class was the first to attend all 4 years.

David went on to join the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Bitburg, Germany. He loaded bombs on F-4 Phantoms during the Vietnam War. David retired on May 29, 1969, and signed up for college. He changed his major several times before he decided on his Masters degree in Economics. After graduation he started working for Oshkosh Truck as a database manager until his retirement in 2009. David married Evelyn Payne on December 22, 1973, in Oshkosh, WI.

David loved playing pool and playing in tournaments. He was one of the best players at the Magnet! David enjoyed traveling with his family, especially their trips around Europe. He was a collector of many things, such as coins, books, cards, trains, records, and beer cans. David loved his beer, cats, music, and corvettes.

David is survived by his wife, Evelyn Christensen; daughter, Lori (Aaron) Bruss; son, David Thomas Christensen; granddaughters, Hannah and Megan Bruss. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A funeral service for Dave will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. Oshkosh beginning at 12:00pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and continue until the start of the service. Entombment and military honors will follow at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
