David Raymond Glaze Sr.

DAVID RAYMOND GLAZE, SR

October 7, 1930 - May 5, 2026

David "Daizy" Glaze, age 95, moved from Bella Vista CBRF to the heavenly home prepared especially for him by his Savior, on May 5, 2026. David was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin as the only child of Raymond and Clara (Hintz) Glaze on October 7, 1930. On May 31, 1952, he began a 68 year marriage to MaryAnn Pfaffenroth. A lifelong patriot, David served his country in the army from 1955-1957 and was honorably discharged as a sergeant.

After the service, David worked a variety of jobs to support his family, including for his uncle, Rudy at Druck's Plumbing. He later apprenticed at EC Merrill, Inc., becoming a master plumber while in their employ. David worked there until 1985, then he began his own business, DR Glaze Inc., where he worked until his retirement in 1996.

David's children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. The annual hotel weekend made memories treasured by all but was just a drop in an overflowing bucket of love, fun and experiences with Grandpa. David loved cars. He enjoyed making them sparkle and had a hard time not bringing them all home to his driveway. He loved using his skills to benefit others: helping family with home projects, responding to the automotive or plumbing emergencies of friends, donating time to the building of churches in Oshkosh and Neillsville, as well as a dental clinic in Mexico. David enjoyed hunting - goose, duck, turkey, and especially the family deer hunting adventure every November, passing his passion to the fourth generation. David was a long-time member of Plymouth Church and was involved in many aspects of church life.

David is survived by his sons, David (Judy) and Dean (Carol) Glaze; daughter, Debbie (Joel) Cook; 8 grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, Ann, Eric, Jodi, Michael, Clare and Jennifer (and their spouses); and 17 great grandchildren. He is survived by cousins, two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and special friend, Marlene Gehrke. He was preceded in death by his wife, MaryAnn.

A funeral service for David will be held at Plymouth Church(1325 Georgia Street, Oshkosh) on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2:00pm. Visitation will be from 12:30pm until the time of service. Entombment will be held at Lake View Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bella Vista CBRF, and St Croix Hospice for their compassion, patience, kindness, and respect given with the care David received in these months. In challenging circumstances, you were for our dad's best good. We are so grateful.
