David Morrison
December 10, 1941 - June 9, 2026
David James Morrison, age 84, of Oshkosh, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 surrounded by family at his residence. He was born December 10, 1941 to the late Bruce and Blanche (Bennett) Morrison in Madison, and grew up on the family farm in Morrisonville. David graduated from DeForest High School in 1960 and then earned a bachelor's degree from UW-Platteville in 1964. He married Karen Anderson on June 6, 1964 in Keyeser, WI.
David started teaching at Oshkosh High School in 1964. He earned a master's degree in Sociology form the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1968. When Oshkosh North High School opened in 1972, he began teaching there until his retirement in 2001. He coached baseball for many years, and served as Social Studies department chair the last several years. "Mr. Mo" was the Junior Diamond Program Director from 1974 - 1988, with many of his fondest memories coming from those summer days in Menominee Park.
David was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed camping throughout northern Wisconsin and traveling to the Rocky Mountains. Another one of his favorite things to do was downhill skiing. He was devoted to the family's six golden retrievers for over 50 years.
David is survived by his son Scott; daughter Melissa (Brian) Schuttenhelm; grandchildren: Meghan, Emily (Eric Tourdot), Harrison (Lauren Ziebell), Samuel, and Jack; great-grandchildren: Norah, Evelyn, Orrin, Eva, and Rosalie; nephew Dale (Vicki) Pribbenow; nieces Lori (Jeff) Miller, Mari Ellen (Ronnie) Ross, and Michelle (Chris) Underwood, along with many great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Karen, sister Barbara Pribbenow, grandson Zachary, and nephews Daniel Pribbenow and Kevin Chadwick.
We would like to thank Dr. Teresa Lee, the Aurora Wound Care staff, Hospice staff, and nurses/assistants Susan, Carissa, Claire, and Ceryck for their expert and compassionate care.
Visitation for David will take place from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18 at Konrad-Behlman, 100 Lake Pointe Drive. A private funeral service and burial at Peace Lutheran Cemetery will be held at a later time. Special thanks to Pastor Karen Jewell for officiating.
In lieu of flowers, we suggest memorials be made to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society in David's name.
