David R. Miller, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, June 27, 2022, at his home in Oshkosh. He was born in Van Dyne on March 21, 1935, to the late Rueben and Ruth (Bellmer) Miller. He was united in marriage to Beverly Bowen on May 21, 1960, in Appleton. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2008.
Dave (“Poppi”) was a devoted family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, collecting classic cars including convertible Mustangs, caring for his beloved dogs through the years, and traveling with his family. Dave had a very special bond with his only brother, Wayne.
Dave had many relatives and friends who spent countless hours together storytelling, listening to music, and playing the spoons. He was the best joke teller on the planet, loved to entertain the crowd, and had the most contagious laugh.
Dave served in the Army from 1957 to 1959 and remained in frequent contact with his close-knit Army buddies. He was the most kindhearted person you’d ever meet but was tough enough to fight a gorilla.
Dave is survived by his daughters: Kathy (Casey) Wille, Kari (Karen) Miller; grandchildren: Morgan (Tom) Goebel and great granddaughter Avery, Lindsay (Korey) Smith, Alexander Wille, Anastacia Wille; brother, Wayne (Arlene) Miller; the Joe Connelly family and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Konrad Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 pm until the time of service.
He truly lived a life of service, respect to others, and unconditional love. He will be greatly missed but lives on in our hearts forever.
Special thanks to Dave’s caregivers who provided devoted friendship and loving care within his home.
