David Buford Wilding, 73, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, went home to be with the Lord on November 6, 2024, after a long illness.
David was born on September 11, 1951, to Buford and Margaret Wilding in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was an entrepreneur starting several businesses throughout his lifetime.
David was a lifelong patriot who enlisted in the United States Army at 18 and served his country faithfully during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1170 in Louisville, Kentucky.
David's real lifelong passion was to serve our Lord and Savior and share the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. He was a born again Christian and enjoyed reminiscing about the church he attended in his youth, "Church of the Open Door" in Milwaukee. Most recently he attended Plymouth Church in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
David is survived by his loving wife, Jan Wilding; stepchildren, Donald (Heather) Hando, Mark (Sarah) Hando, Dorothea Hando; grandchildren, Emma, Maddy, Benjamin and Elias Hando; brother, Douglas (Mary) Wilding; sister, Karen (Joseph) Visocky; his special cousins the Brockmans, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Buford Wilding; his mother, Margaret Wilding; and a brother, Dennis Wilding.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Answers in Genesis, an apologetics ministry at https://answersingenesis.org/donate/.
