Dennis Charles Berholtz, age 78, of Pickett, went to the Lord on Friday, January 16, 2026. Dennis, a beloved husband, father, friend, and dedicated community member, passed away leaving behind a legacy rooted in kindness, hard work, and a deep love for the outdoors. Born to the late Harvey and Esther (Sawallish) Berholtz on December 15, 1947, Dennis grew up with a zest for life that was evident from his first job as a paper boy, to cruising around in his infamous Nash Rambler—fondly known as the Green Monster—often with a mischievous grin and a knack for stirring up a little trouble.
Dennis graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1966 before pursuing his Machinist Degree at Fox Valley Tech. He served honorably in the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972, embodying his lifelong spirit of service. He married Pamela Jones on December 8, 1973, and together they built a loving home and raised two children, Claire Berholtz and Diana (Berholtz) Sina. Dennis and Pam recently celebrated 52 years of marriage.
His passion for the outdoors was unmatched—Dennis loved snowmobile racing, hunting trips with family, and camping getaways in Redgranite. He dedicated countless hours picking rocks with family on David & Diana’s farm, never shying away from hard work or an opportunity to help. Whether on the maintenance crews at Kingsberry, Oshkosh Truck, or during his 29-year career at Kimberly-Clark Lakeview Diaper Plant, where he retired in 2005, Dennis was known for his reliability and strong spirit.
A proud Utica Volunteer Firefighter from 1986-1996, Dennis’s willingness to lend a hand extended to neighbors and strangers alike—never hesitating to help anyone with just about anything. In the winter months, he cherished walking at the YMCA among cousins and friends, sharing laughs and stories. Dennis’s life was a testament to the power of community, family, friendship, and faith.
Dennis is survived by his wife Pamela, their children Claire Berholtz of North Fond du Lac and Diana (David) Sina of Pickett; sister-in-law Judy Berholtz of Oshkosh, and countless other family members from the Berholtz and Jones families. He now joins his parents, Harvey and Esther Berholtz; sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Richard Krueger; brother William Berholtz; in-laws William and Carol Jones, and brother-in-law Reese Jones in eternal peace. His memory lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
