Dennis Lee Hansen, age 78, of Oshkosh, WI passed away June 14, 2026.

He was born April 30, 1948 in Oshkosh, the son of Norman and Myrtle Hansen. He married Paula M. Flohr on April 30, 1981.

He graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1966. Denny worked at Mercury Marine for 27 years in various positions retiring as Lead Foreman. Denny took pride in running his own marine repair business, “Hansen Machine & Speedmaster, LLC” for 16 years.

From a young age, Denny was interested in learning how to operate and fix machines. He hand built a dune buggy with a 215 cubic inch, center mounted engine and entered it in ice races on Lake Winnebago, taking 1st place six years in a row. With the studded tires, he said, “Racing on ice was like driving on concrete.”

Denny always looked forward to deer hunting with his “buddies” on his brother Dean’s land where he shot a 13-point buck, his biggest ever.

Denny loved remodeling projects, ATVing, and road trips with his “wifey.” He enjoyed his trips to Cancun and his visits with Barb and Brian in Michigan. He loved spending time with his family and teasing his grandchildren.

Denny’s latest hobby was 3D printing. He spent many hours learning the craft and printing things for those he loved.

Denny is survived by his wife Paula M. Hansen; son Mark (Patty) Hansen and granddaughter Amanda Hansen; stepdaughter Kerry (Tim) Sauer and granddaughter Reese (fiancée TJ Ewers) and grandson Remy Gardiner; stepson Chris (Jessi) Flohr and granddaughters Natalie and Yvonne Flohr.

He is also survived by brothers Dean (Carol) Hansen of New Lisbon, WI; Brian (Barb) Hansen of Davisburg, MI; and sister Karen Andresen of Citrus Heights, CA as well as many nieces and nephews.

Denny is preceded in death by his father Norman E. Hansen and mother Myrtle A. Hansen.

A private service is being held for the family.

A special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Jones MD, as well as the nursing staff at Aurora Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
