Dennis Kotloski, 81, of Oshkosh; beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, community leader, coach and veteran peacefully signed off on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2024. He left behind a legacy of love, service, and memories that could fill a stadium.
Born and bred in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Dennis’s roots ran deep, much like his loyalty to his home state. He was a passionate Packers, Badgers and Brewers fan embodying the spirit of Wisconsin in everything he did. Whether he was cheering on game day or hunting down the perfect prime rib on Saturdays, Dennis loved Wisconsin, his family, and then Wisconsin again.
Dennis’s love story with Jackie Boese began in high school, she was the cheerleader; he was the greaser. They married on November 6th, 1965 (Dennis’s birthday—a strategic move that ensured he never forgot an anniversary). Their love story endured through every move, bump, and pothole life handed them, growing stronger with each chapter. Their marriage spanned an impressive 59 years, marked by countless memories and unwavering devotion. Together, they raised three sons—Michael, David, and Jon—who shared their father’s love for golf, bowling, snowmobiling, fishing, and simply enjoying time together.
Dennis’s passion for cars and engineering led him to pursue a career in automation, paving the way for him to start RSN USA, a successful recruiting firm specializing in engineering and manufacturing jobs. But Dennis wasn’t just a man of business; he was a man of heart. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a proud U.S. Army Reserve Drill Sergeant, and he dedicated countless hours as Board President for Bella Medical Clinic, championing causes close to his heart and ensuring his influence touched many lives.
Faith was Dennis’s compass, guiding him through life’s highs and lows. As a devoted member of Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, he found community, comfort, and purpose. Whether it was attending Mass, volunteering, or simply sharing a good laugh with fellow parishioners, Dennis's presence was a cherished part of the congregation.
Summers found him at McCallister Lake in Waupaca, which will always be “home” to his family. Fishing, golfing, grilling, and conquering the creaky stairs were all part of the summer ritual. His grandkids—Matthew, Mae, Henry, and Cooper—were the light of his life, and he reveled in their games, accomplishments, and refrigerator-worthy artwork. His home was filled with pictures of his family.
Dennis was preceded in life by his parents Leone (Marvin) and Ralph Kotloski. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Jackie, who managed to put up with his antics for nearly six decades; his siblings Janet (Travers Price) and Ken (Carole Kotloski); a host of nieces and nephews; his three sons and their spouses: Michael (Kim), David (Katie), and Jon (Courtney); and his cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Mae, Henry, and Cooper. His memory will be celebrated with laughter, fond stories, and a toast to the man who lived life with resilience and an unwavering love for family.
