Donna M. Jungwirth died unexpectedly due to complications from dementia on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 with family at her side. Donna was born on September 8, 1949 in Fond du Lac, WI to Carl and Mary James Wegner and raised in Fond du Lac/Oshkosh, graduating from Oshkosh High School. After traveling and adventuring in the Western United States for several years she returned to Oshkosh where she met and married her soulmate and the love of her life Dennis Jungwirth. Together they traveled extensively and shared many great times with their families and friends. They could be found quite often at Jerry's Bar and Champs for libations as well as several other great gathering spots with friends and family. Dennis was the owner of Black Cat Chimney Builders which they worked together for many years. After Den's passing Donna went to work for Kimberly Clark and retired from there in 2012.
Donna loved each and every one of her extended families as well as her many friends. She was always there with a smile, words of encouragement and a hug. She spoiled all of her grandkids, nieces and nephews and spent quality time with her Aunts, Uncles and cousins receiving back all the love she gave. After the death of her younger sister Paula in 2005, Donna took on her greatest role in life as a surrogate Mother to Paula's children-Adrienna and Hunter. She provided a loving home, support and guidance as they grew to adulthood starting their own families. Donna attended and enjoyed all of their sporting events, dance recitals and school activities and then attending the same events for her great-nieces Ellie and Everly Bartell. Donna also enjoyed gardening and lawn maintenance which replaced her role as a sun goddess and her pursuit of the perfect tan. Donna also prepared countless holiday meals for her family taking over the role her Mother had for many years. She was an avid Packer fan attending numerous games with family and friends.
Donna is survived by her brothers, Carl(Marlene)Wegner of West Bend, John(Sue)Wegner of Rhinelander; niece, Adrienna(Drew)Bartell of Omro; nephew, Hunter(Kristine)Mulhollon of Oshkosh, Wendy(Scott)Jungwirth Wells of Stevensville, MD, Dennis(Lori)Jungwirth of Woodridge, VA; stepbrother, Tom Norton of Oshkosh; stepsister, Joanne LeBeck of Oshkosh; brother in-law, Reg Jungwirth of Kewaskum and brother in-law David(Connie)Jungwirth of Minnetonka, MN. She is further survived by nephews, Sean Wegner and Cory Wegner; niece, Cassie Stadler; grandchildren, Kelby, Landon and Mackenzie Tews, Derek and Taylor Wells, Haly and Logan Jungwirth, all of whom brought her great joy. Donna also had a place in her heart for her former son-in-law, Matt Tews who was always there for her and Den.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Jungwirth; her parents, Carl Wegner and Mary Norton; stepfather, Ellie Norton; sister, Paula Norton, Denny's parents, Gordon and Betty Jungwirth, sister in-law, Jeannine Jungwirth.
Donna's kindness and the warmth she brought to everyone she met will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
Per Donna's wishes, a private family ceremony will take place in the near future. In lieu of any flowers or memorial she also requests that you stop at Jerry's Bar in Oshkosh and toast her and Denny!
