Donna McCabe

Donna M. McCabe passed away on July 12, 2025 at Oak Gardens Place of Altoona, WI. She was born on June 28, 1933 to the late Henry and Gertrude Koch.

She Married Lt. William McCabe on December 28,1957 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh, WI. The couple were stationed in Denison, TX and Tacoma McCord Air Force Base. William passed away because of an airplane crash while on active duty.

Donna graduated from Oshkosh High School and Fox Valley Secretarial School. She worked for the Oshkosh School System at West High School music department and at North High School as a receptionist for 32 years. Donna enjoyed sewing and traveling.

She is survived by her daughter, René (Tom) Lemmer; brother-in-law, Loren Kietzman; grandchildren, Courtney (CJ), Christopher (Becky) and six great grandchildren; goddaughter, Peggy (Pete) McCabe-Schmitz. Along with many nieces and nephews, and very special friends, Cheryl and Mary Lou, that she had known for many years.

In addition to her parents, and husband, William McCabe, Donna was preceded in death by her twin sister, Diana Kietzman.

A celebration of life for Donna will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside,100 Lake Point Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54904 on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 4:00 pm. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm. In honor of a vibrant woman who had a life well lived, please feel free to wear your most bright and sparkly clothing to help us celebrate Donna!

Burial will take place at St. Jerome Cemetery in Oconomowoc, WI beside her beloved husband.
