Doug lived a life rich in love and dedication. Following his graduation from Wautoma High School in 1953, he married his beloved wife, Lois Hauser, on April 14, 1956, embarking on a journey that would last almost 58 remarkable years. Doug was a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church, where he served as Church Council President for six years, reflecting his commitment to community and faith. An avid bowler, fisherman, golfer, pool player, card enthusiast, and woodworker, many smiles and gifts were made with his talented woodworking skills. He and Lou traveled extensively, creating cherished memories on road trips across the United States.

He is further survived by his very dear friend, Mary Kolberg, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Schmuhl.

A special note from Douglas, “My family is the best family a father could have, thank you all so very much. When I leave here I so much want to be with your mother in my coming life. She was my best friend for almost 58 years. I know I will see you all later”.
