Edward Harley Buttke

October 30, 1951 — March 31, 2012

Edward H. Buttke, 60, passed away Saturday March 31, 2012 at Aurora Medical Center. Ed was born October 30, 1951 in Oshkosh, son of Gordon and Hazel Buttke.Ed spent most of his life working for the Oshkosh Parks Department at Lakeshore Golf Course, and for the past 25 years at Riverside Cemetery, taking great pride in both facilities. He retired July 1, 2011.Ed loved the game of golf, winning the Oshkosh City Tournament four times, as well as many other tournaments throughout the state. He grew up hunting with his dad and enjoyed playing poker, sheepshead and cribbage with friends and family. He was also a dog lover, having countless pets over the years.Ed is survived by his two sons, Daniel (Chelsea) and Ryan, both of Oshkosh, grandchildren (Jackson, Liam and a third Reagan), a sister Georgia, also of Oshkosh. Special thanks goes out to all those who were there for Ed, especially in his final days. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.Friends may call on the family at Konrad-Behlman Westside on Monday April 9, 2012 from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service led by Pastor Nancy Krueger of Peace Lutheran Church will follow. Interment will be at a later date at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established by the family.
