Ellen J. Hofeldt

Ellen J. Hofeldt passed away on June 18, 2026 surrounded by her family at Aurora Medical Center. She was born January 28, 1938 in Pilger, NE, daughter of Emil and Bertha (Koehlmoos) Schulz. She and Larry Hofeldt married on March 29, 1959 in Wayne, NE. They spent most of their married life in Wisconsin.

Ellen taught special education in Oshkosh for just short of 25 years. After retiring due to health, she and her husband continued to enjoy doing outdoor activities together, camping, attending sporting events, traveling, crafting, playing games, and square dancing.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Larry; daughter, Renee (Scott) of Trout Creek, MT; son, David (Laurel) of Oakdale, MN; three grandchildren, Michelle, Nicole (Nick), and Theresa; and two great-granddaughters, Skylar and Emery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother.

A memorial service will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:30am. Visitation will take place from 10:30am until the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ellen's name may be directed to the Oshkosh Humane Society.
