Emil C. “Dick” Reichow Jr., age 92, was called home on the morning of Monday, February 23, 2026 at Aurora Medical Center. Dick was born to the late Emil and Neta (Pinkerton) Reichow Sr. on June 27, 1933, at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh. He married his beautiful bride, Audrey Eisner on October 22,1955, at Peace Lutheran Church.
Dick attended Longfellow School, Merrill School, Oshkosh High and graduated in 1951 from Shattuck Military Academy of Faribault, MN. He went on to attend UW Madison, after which he formed the Em-Rey corporation. His first encounter was developing West Pointe Plat, then went on to purchase and develop Waldwic estate. Dick held partnership at the Oshkosh Sausage Co. Later, he opened a laundromat business called the ‘Wash basket’, then opened the first self-serve car wash named ‘Tornado’ in Oshkosh.
Dick was a very proud and dedicated family man, an active member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church since 1965 and volunteered for numerous charitable organizations. He held multiple memberships, which included the Beja Shriners, Winnebagoland Shriner Club, Mascoutin and Masonic Temple. He loved family fishing trips to Canada and fun trips to Florida. Dick and Audrey travelled to all 50 states, including 20 European countries.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Audrey; one sister, Margee Hoffmann. They were blessed with three sons and three daughters-in-law, James (Karen), Scott (Denise) and Kurt (Tracy). Along with two precious granddaughters, Alexis (Devin), Taylor (Josh), their bonus grandchildren Becca (Jake), Ryan (Danielle), Rachael and Claire (Josh). Great grandchildren, Maizie, Owen, Wyatt and Walker. Also, a number of nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Hilda ‘Granny’ and Herbert Eisner and brother-in-law, Bob Hoffmann.
A funeral service will be held at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1860 Wisconsin Street in Oshkosh, WI on March 4, 2026, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service. A Luncheon will follow. A private burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank all the hospital staff at Aurora Medical Center, Vince Lombardi Cancer Center and special friend, Dr. Dar.
