Fern Emma Schmidt

Fern E. Schmidt, 77, of Milwaukee, formerly of Oshkosh died Wednesday March 1, 2006 at Columbia St. Mary Hospital, Milwaukee. She was born in Oshkosh on January 3, 1929 a daughter of the late Balthazar and Ruth (Kalbus) Schmidt. Fern graduated from Oshkosh High and from Kahlor Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. She was a Registered Nurse at Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee. Fern was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. She is survived by a sister Evelyn Dutcher of Oshkosh; a brother Carleton (Lois) Schmidt of Oshkosh; a best friend Dorothy Habe Habecost of Milwaukee; a niece Lucy Ann Schmidt; four nephews James (Kathy) Dutcher, Tom Dutcher, David (Bonnie) Dutcher, and James (Debbie) Schmidt; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services for Fern will be held Sunday March 5, 2006 at 6:00 PM at Christ Lutheran Church, Rev. Eric Quinney-Burnard officiating. Family and friends may call at the church Sunday from 4 PM until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Christ Lutheran Church.
