Frederick Otto Petzold

Frederick O. Petzold, of Oshkosh died Wednesday September 14, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center two days before his 100th birthday. He was born on September 16, 1911 in Oshkosh the son of Otto and Eliese Procknow Petzold. On November 26, 1936 he married Lucille Steeps. She preceded him in death in 1989. Fred was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and was involved with the VPs at church. He loved hunting, fishing, and woodcarving. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 30 years, was a docent at EAA, was a member of Wood Chippers of Wisconsin, and had pictures of his carvings in Ron Kochs book Waterfowl of Winnebago He is survived by his daughters Denise Petzold of Topeka, KS., Patricia(Greg) Bauer of Oshkosh, one son Mike(Bernalee) Petzold of St. Charles, MO., four grandchildren Michael(Mary) Bauer, Paul(Kim) Bauer, Dr Michele(Dereck) Raymond, Nicole Alsop, nine great-grandchildren Oliver, Macauly, Maddie, Emily, Nick, Mackenzie, Dylan, Cody, Devyn, and a long time very special friend Ruth Krumenauer.He was preceded in death by his wife, and two special friends Edna Kalbus, and Jenny Eulrich. Funeral services for Fred will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 2:30 at Peace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church one hour prior to the funeral. A celebration of Freds life will be held at Kodiak Jacks. Burial will be at Ellenwood Cemetery.A memorial has been established.
