Gary E. LeMay, age 76, passed away peacefully at Aurora Baycare Medical Center, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. He was born to the late Joseph and Virginia LeMay on October 4,1948 in Oshkosh.
Gary married his high school sweetheart on July, 1 1967 and they enjoyed 58 wonderful years together. He joined the U.S. Army in 1968. While serving in Korea his first daughter was born. He then started a career in baking which lasted for 35 years, working for several bakeries before opening Townsend Bread Basket. After moving on from baking, he served drinks and smart remarks at his favorite establishment, Sunset Resort in Townsend, WI, where he met many amazing friends over the years. After retirement, Gary and Vicki moved back to Oshkosh to be closer to their grandbabies which he loved dearly.
Gary loved hunting, fishing and sturgeon spearing with his family, as well as watching the Brewers and Packer games. A highlight of his life was attending the ICE BOWL. He also enjoyed going to Laughlin, NV with friends, and in 2017 for their 50th Wedding Anniversary Gary took his kids and spouses along so they could experience Laughlin and see why he enjoyed it so much.
Gary is survived by his wife, Vicki (Noe); children, Joy Schaefer, Tari LeMay (Ron Hackbarth), Shaun LeMay (Melissa), Amy Vlosak (Adam); grandchildren Jessy Urbschat (Dakota), Christopher Urbschat, Corey LeMay (Kristal), Carson and Brinley LeMay, Arthur and Aubrey Vlosak; great grandchildren, Kolyn Drews, Carter LeMay and Mackenzie Zeinert. He is also survived by brothers, Harry and Jeff; sisters, Carol Spiegelberg and Linda Schmidt; in-laws, Darlene LeMay, Lee Noe (Sandra), Tom "Da Muzz" Muzzy and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by siblings, Ginny, Delores, Joseph (Jr), Patty and Billy. Also, in laws Art and Neve Noe, Jan and Kerm Keeler, and Sue Muzzy.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, July 18 from 2-5PM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes (100 Lake Pointe Dr) with family and friends sharing memories and Military Honors taking place at 5PM.
The family would like to thank Dr. Matas Morkevicius and the staff at Aurora Baycare ICU for their wonderful and loving care they gave Gary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Gary's name.
