Gary J. Troudt

July 30, 1959 — November 6, 2025

Gary J. Troudt, age 66, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully into his Savior’s arms on Thursday November 6, 2025, following a courageous battle with mesothelioma. He was at home surrounded by his family who loved him dearly. Gary was born on July 30, 1959 in Oshkosh to James and Joan (Dobish) Troudt. On May 3,1986 he married Dina Schneider in Oshkosh.

Gary was an incredibly generous, caring, and selfless man, always putting others before himself. He loved his wife, kids, and grandkids more than anything and never missed a sports game or life event - big or small. He made sure to take care of his family by providing endless grocery runs and donut deliveries. He loved hosting his annual 3rd of July Party each year, but his favorite time of year was Christmas. Singing “Away in a Manger” and “Silent Night” and watching the “Old” Scrooge after church every Christmas Eve held a special place in his heart.

Sports were a big part of Gary’s life, both as a passionate Wisconsin fan and as a player. In his early adulthood, he proudly played on Red’s Pizza championship softball team and continued playing rec sports for many years. He also enjoyed coaching his son’s youth sports teams. A lifelong sports card collector, Gary took great pride in his collection and continued the hobby throughout his retirement.

He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he attended all his life.

In all the ways Gary loved others, people loved him just as much. He was a light in this world and made everyone feel important. He will be missed everyday by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his wife Dina, his children Amanda (Andy) Woller, Mitchell (Anya) Troudt, and Kristin (Ben) Phillips, his grandchildren Carson, Noah, and Ryan Woller, Madelyn and Aiden Phillips, and new baby Troudt, his siblings Barb (Steve) Rothenbach and Dennis Troudt, his mother-in-law Fran Schneider, his sister-in-law Desi (Gary) Hazelberg, and his brother-in-law Tim (Lisa) Schneider.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Albert Schneider, and his sister-in-law Norma Troudt.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev. John Dorn officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A private burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
