George M. Burns

Oshkosh

It is with profoundly heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family of George Burns

announce his sudden passing on June 18, 2025, at age 63. George passed away at

Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh and was surrounded and held in love by his wife

Bonita, brother Tim, and sister-in-law Kris.

George was born on September 8,1961, the son of Richard and Marie (Petersen)

Burns. George graduated high school and took some college classes before entering a

long career of 25 years at Goodwill Industries, as the Vice President of Facilities, where

he was instrumental in the growth and development of new stores and programs in the

Northeastern Wisconsin region. George went on to work in real estate development

and construction with his brother, Tim, at Goodlife assisted living.

George married his loving, adoring wife, Bonita on March 8, 2003. They married in

Newfoundland, Canada. They built their life together in Oshkosh, Wisconsin while

thoroughly enjoying their trips back to family in Canada. They shared an exceptional life

together as best friends and they were inseparable.

George had a huge heart and was adored and loved by everyone who knew him. He

was always there to lend a helping hand and could fix anything. He truly enjoyed his

Harley Davidson motorcycles, playing cards with friends and occasional trips to the

casino. George had a smile that was contagious, he spread kindness everywhere he

went and will be immensely missed by all.

George is survived by his wife, Bonita; brothers Tim (Kris), Scott (Kelly); children

Michael and Matthew; mother in law, Geraldine Hatcher; brother in laws Danny Hatcher

(Ellen), Derrick Hatcher (Janice); sister in laws, Yvonne Riles (Henry), Tracy Rose (Gord),

Darlene Hatcher and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Marie; father-in-law Alex Hatcher

and brother-in-laws, Charlie and Leonard Hatcher.
