Gilbert E. Juedes, known as "Gibby," passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2025, after a long battle with cancer, with his family by his side. He was born on February 25, 1948, in Milwaukee, WI, and raised in Oshkosh.
Gibby was the son of the late George and Gerrie (Holst) Juedes. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis Juedes (Thums). He is survived by his significant other, Bobbi Sprague; his sons, Gary Juedes (Ashley Bahr) of Oshkosh, and Eric Juedes (Brooke) of Oshkosh; his siblings, Gail and Dan Colligan of Hudson, WI, Greg (Sandra) Juedes of Oshkosh, and Penny and John Vonderloh of Waupun, WI. He was a proud grandfather to Morgan Juedes, Patrick Juedes, Jonah Juedes, Alyce Juedes, Hoyt Juedes, and Georgia Juedes, and a great-grandfather to Alayna Juedes.
Gibby was a very proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the Navy. He was awarded the Purple Heart and was a member of the American Legion Post 70 in Oshkosh.
Gibby had a love for racing and was an avid NASCAR fan. When not watching TV, he enjoyed spending time with his family, ice fishing, and fishing with his buddies on his pontoon. He enjoyed hunting and was proud of his Chippewa Indian heritage.
Gibby will be remembered for his service to his country and love for his family.
A service for Gibby will be held at Lake View Memorial Park on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at noon. A time of visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of services. An entombment at the Lake View Mausoleum will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, live plants would be preferred.
