Jack Eiler

October 5, 1932 — May 1, 2026

On May 1, 2026, Jack Eiler, age 93, decided it was time to move on to the next great adventure.

Born October 5th, 1932, just Jack, per his mother as Jack was a good name. He grew up in Oshkosh as child number 4 of 6 and lived there most of his life.

At the age of 16 he joined the National Guard and after deciding whether transporting bombs was not for him he joined the Navy at 17. His navy career lasted 3 years and he served on the USS boxer in the Korean War as a Navy fireman E3 and engine room specialist.

After getting out of the Navy with an honorable discharge he dabbled in several factory jobs until Jack started his working career and was promoted to Foreman for Pelles & Johnson Sign Company. He worked there 20+ years and left in 1983 to become Maintenance Manager for Marathon Oil (Speedway Gas Station) retiring in 1997. When the honey do list was complete boredom took over so Jack decided working was the thing to do and gladly joined the Kitz & Pfeil team as your local jovial yet slightly cranky screen and window repair man in Oshkosh for the next 20+ years.

In 1962 Jack met the love of his life, Shirley (Wenrich) Eiler, soon after they decided to combine their families and get married. After already having a combination of seven children, they decided to try for one more boy. What a surprise when they got a two for one deal twin daughters, a total of nine.

While weekdays were dedicated to work, they spent many weekends camping and snowmobiling together as a family. Jack also enjoyed taking Shirley out dancing.

In fashion of his first name, he really was a Jack of all trades. He enjoyed picking up odd jobs keeping his hands busy, helping people out doing this and that. Additionally, he loved helping out his children and grandchildren with their house projects too. Something as simple as changing out a light fixture to taking out a whole wall gave him joy and purpose. Just remember, you can always mud it.

Among his other loving family members that went before him waiting on the other side was his number one babe wife Shirley. Just behind is their daughter Sandy Jungwirth with her little nephew, Grandson Brent on her hip. Son-in-law David Fredrick is there waiting with a hammer and drill to do the next house project.

Here on this earth, keeping the jovial Jack's memory stay alive are all the rest of his babes, daughters and son as well as his grand babes grandson's a great grandkid.

If you were wondering what you can do to help keep Jack's memory alive, please consider donating to the Oshkosh Humane Society as Jack loved all the four-legged friends.

The family asks that you live your life like Jack, jovial, a little bit of a jokester, as lovingly as possible, and if you were going to live to be 160, or did he say 140, well maybe it was was 120, just live your life like you hit the Jack Pot, because we did having him as our Dad. And he would say if you can't do that, go blow it out your nose. (Translation, put a little boogie in it)

A huge thank you to the staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay for making Jack's final days as comfortably as possible, special thanks to his nurses and CNA's for indulging in his flirtatiousness and making a 93-year-old man smile. Additional thanks to Both Oshkosh and Fond du Lac Aurora Hospitals, Evergreen Manor staff and Superior Ambulance Service who graciously brought him home.
