James G. Hitz, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. He was born on June 3, 1938, in Oshkosh to the late George and Mildred (Klabunde) Hitz. He was united in marriage to Betty Jones on October 22, 1959, in Oshkosh.
James is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Hitz; two daughters: Jane (Brian) Wilson, Susan (Russell) Kleinschmidt; son, Jeffrey (Julie) Hitz; grandchildren: Eileen (Todd) Cimermancic, Audrey Thom, Molly (Justice) Keller, Ashley (Tyler Rumlow) Hitz; five great grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Phillip (Linda) Hitz; sister, Nadine (Terry) Hitz-Wiley; close cousins: Raymond Hitz, Richard Hitz, and John Bellin.
Jim enjoyed farming and antique tractors and was proud of his trucking career, logging over 5,000,000 accident free miles.
Per James’ wishes, no formal funeral services will be held.
