James "Mickey" M. Halron

March 2, 1931 — March 20, 2022

James Michael (Mickey) Halron, age 91, passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on March 20, 2022.  Mickey was born on March 2, 1931 in Ontonagon, Michigan to Omar (Buster) and Fay Halron.  He married Verna Sommer on March 31, 1951 and they spent their entire lives in Ontonagon.

Mickey spent most of his working years at White Pine Copper Company, both underground in the mine and later in the maintenance area, retiring in 1992.  One of his favorite past times was having coffee with the guys at the gas station.  Verna used to tease him that he better not skip a day or he might miss something important.

Mickey is survived by his daughter, Brenda Borger and son-in-law Bob Borger of Woodruff, Wisconsin, his son Michael Halron of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, his granddaughter, Jamie McNulty and her husband Bryan McNulty of Wadsworth, Illinois and his three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Aleigha and Brendan McNulty.  He is also survived by Doug Fyfe and his wife, Mary, of Oak Harbor, Washington.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna, his in-laws Ted and Lucille Sommer and his cousin Jim (Chugger) Fyfe.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial will be held at a later date for both him and Verna.
