James B. Thomas, 51, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at Park View Health Center.
Jim was born on January 17, 1975, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to James Thomas and Theresa Mierow (Gordie). On July 21, 2007, he married the love of his life, Amy Lieske, in Oshkosh. Together they built a life centered on family, love, and lasting memories.
Above all else, Jim cherished his role as a husband and father. His greatest joy came from spending time with Amy and their children, Taylor and Logan. Whether celebrating holidays and birthdays, going on family vacations, or simply enjoying everyday moments together, Jim found happiness in being surrounded by those he loved most. His devotion to his family was evident in all that he did, and the memories they created together will be treasured forever.
Jim was a man of many interests and passions. He enjoyed golfing, playing volleyball, bowling, fishing, hunting, listening to and making his own music, and photography. A dedicated Wisconsin sports fan, he enthusiastically supported the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Tennessee Volunteers. He delighted in sharing his hobbies and interests with family and friends and was always ready to cheer on his favorite teams.
Soccer held a particularly special place in Jim’s heart. His passion for the sport extended well beyond the field through his dedicated involvement with Oshkosh United Soccer Club. As a coach, volunteer, and Club President, Jim devoted countless hours to supporting players, families, and the broader soccer community. His leadership, commitment, and generosity left a lasting impact on the organization and the many lives he touched. He will be remembered not only for his love of soccer but also for the kindness, encouragement, and selflessness he shared with others.
Jim dedicated more than 20 years of service to Kimberly-Clark Corporation, building a career that spanned planning, contract manufacturing, supply chain operations, and external manufacturing. He will be remembered for his contributions to the business, his support of others, and the lasting impact he made on colleagues throughout the organization.
Jim’s life was defined by the relationships he nurtured and the positive influence he had on those around him. He was a loving husband, devoted father, caring son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend whose presence enriched the lives of many.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Amy; his children, Taylor and Logan; his parents, James and Theresa (Gordie) Mierow; his brothers, Curtis (Kelly), Clint, and Craig; his sister, Becky (Peter); his parents-in-law, John and Nancy Lieske; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
