Janet Lois Himmler

Janet L. Himmler, age 95, passed away at Park View Health Center on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. She was born to the late Clifford and Carrie (Johnson) Hawley on August 17, 1928, in Oshkosh.

She married Robert Himmler on February 19, 1949, in Oshkosh. Janet worked at Paine Lumber Company for many years.

Janet enjoyed embroidery; especially making dish towels, pillow cases and crewel pictures.

In her leisure time, Janet enjoyed playing cards with her cherished sisters and friends as well as watching game shows on TV. She also had an unconventional passion for professional wrestling, believing in the excitement and authenticity of the matches. Her enthusiasm for pro-wrestling was infectious, and she would passionately discuss the latest events with her friends and family.

Janet's love for her loved ones extended to the table as well. She particularly enjoyed going out to eat with her friends and family.

Janet is survived by son Robert (Joy); daughter Barbara (Greg); brother Jerry; sister Kathryn; grandchildren Emily (Jason) Ernster, Brett (Stephanie) Himmler, Kimberly (Sam) Bradley, Michael (Kelly) Foust; great grandchildren Claire and Ned Ernster, Winnie and Oliver Himmler, Joey, and Alex Bradley.

Along with her parents Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brothers, Wayne, David, Don, Kenny, and Richard; sisters Joyce, Carol, Ruth, Doris, Jean, and Alice.

A service for Janet will be held at Peace Lutheran Church (240 W 9th Ave) on Friday January 5, 2024, at 11AM. A time of visitation will take place from 10AM until the time of service. A burial will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
