Jerry Howard Jorgenson

July 30, 1939 — May 5, 2024

Oshkosh

On May 5, 2024, Jerry Howard Jorgenson died at home with his wife and family by his side following a brief bout with kidney cancer.

Jerry was born at home on Oregon Street in Oshkosh, WI on July 30, 1939 to Walter Howard Jorgenson and Mildred (Mortenson) Jorgenson. Baptized, confirmed and married in Peace Lutheran church and graduated class of 1957 – Oshkosh High School.

Jerry and Judith Ann Switlick were married on October 10, 1959, at Peace Lutheran Church and celebrated 64 happy years (in 2023). Their marriage blessed them with 3 children, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Jerry worked at Dunphy boats, and eventually retired from Rockwell International after 30 years, and also owned and operated Valley Precast Unit steps for 10 of those years. In retirement he worked for Ideal Products for 16 years until final retirement in 2014.

Jerry is survived by his three children Scott Jorgenson (Robert Bruegmann), Susan (James) Robl and Stephanie (Rodney) Beck and his eleven grandchildren, Molly (Matt) Ziegenhagen, Amanda (Jesse) Simmons, Ellen Beck (James Briese), Audrey Robl, Mitchell (Seana) Beck, Thomas Beck, Jerald Beck, Robert (Montana Steier) Beck, Emma Robl, Abigail Beck, Evan Beck and seven great-grandchildren Jimmy, Lily, Grace, Nora, Evelyn, Henry and Sean. He is survived by sister Janet Schneider of Bozeman, MT. Further survived by in-laws, Mary Tollard, Nancy Lee, Kate (Elroy) Petermann, Kris (Mike) Domer, Elizabeth (Edward) Metzler and nieces, nephews, cousins and many good friends.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents, parents-in-law, Anthony and Lenore Switlick, brother-in-law Tom Switlick, sister and brother-in law Karen (Tom) Kramer and brothers-in-law Claude Tollard and Richard Schneider.

Jerry was a quiet, gentle man with a dry sense of humor – loved to tease. Loved and treasured his grandchildren and great grandchildren and often attended their events and was proud of all their endeavors. He had a fondness for all animals and pets and was known to have many follow him home. Many years he spent time up at the 40 acres in Waupaca, WI with his father and family. Jerry and Judy enjoyed many years of traveling in the U.S. and with their children and road trips in later years. They enjoyed many scenic drives throughout Wisconsin and frequented favorite restaurants.
